Gresham


Gresham is an extremely friendly community that provides residents a comfortable quality of life. Serving as a resting spot for early pioneers migrating to Portland, the area was simply known as Campground because of its heavily forested environment. In 1884, a post office was established in order to designate the area as a city, and was named after Postmaster General Walter Q. Gresham. The city wasn’t officially incorporated until 1905. Surrounding neighborhoods include Fairview, Troutdale, Boring and Sandy.

There are plenty of year-round outdoor and recreational activities right in Gresham’s own backyard. Mt. Hood, famous for its skiing and snowboarding, is located less than an hour away, and also provides cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and inner-tubing. For warmer seasons, dozens of campgrounds are a short drive away, and range from tent-only to full-service sites with boat launches and equestrian facilities.
